Les Arcs Ski and Snowboard Resort, France
Les Arcs has the Longest piste in Europe!
Our closest ski area is Les Arcs, which has now been linked with La Plagne to form Paradiski - the 2nd largest ski area in the world! This new linked area boasts 425km of pistes, 3 glaciers, 2 peaks over 3000 meters, The longest piste in Europe is 7km from the top of the glacier all the way down to Villaroger which is 7 min drive from the chalet, so we can always collect you from there. 2 years ago a double decker cable car was installed linking Les Coches in La Plagne to Vallandry in Les Arcs making it one of the largest ski areas in Europe. The other ski villages which make up the vast Les Arcs resort are Arc 1600, Arc 1800, Arc 1950, Arc 2000 and Villaroger. To get into Les Arcs from Bourg St Maurice there is a funicular train which leaves regually and takes between 7 and 10 minutes.

Snow Park:
Les Arc has an excellent snowpark with kickers of all sizes (greens, reds and blacks), rails boxes and hips. So for those of you who love their freestyle, do not fear! The park is maintained by professional snowboarders and is groomed every evening and therefore well-kept. They are constantly building new jibs and hips to add to the current 3 green, 3 red and 3 black kickers, 1 double black monster kicker, a wall ride and a variety of rails. In la Plagne there are an even larger variety of rails sucn as S rails and rainbow rails!!
Half Pipe and Off Piste:
For those of you who want to ride the half pipe, Tignes has 2 pipes in Val Claret one super pipe and one smaller beginner pipe so you can practice your tricks before taking them to the super pipe! From the top of the glacier, in Les Arcs there is a nature park, which has some amazing off piste that has been featured in magazines such as white lines.
Tree-Runs:
There are some fantastic tree runs in Vallandry with natural quarter pipes and rainbow rails hidden away. There is lots of easily accesible off piste, which means no walking or avalanch danger. There are plenty of areas where you can build good kickers into powder to practice your tricks without danger of hurting yourself. There are also some good back country runs and hairy corridors for the more adventurous person!
Bourg St Maurice Town, and Nightlife:
There are lots of great restaurants in Bourg Saint Maurice and, as one night a week it is the day off for the chalet hosts, you will have the opportunity to go out into town to eat at a local restaurant. There are a number of bars and a club in Bourg but there is more night life in Les Arcs 1800, which is a 30 min drive away. If enough of you want to go out into town (whether Borg or Les Arcs) then one of the hosts can drive a group of you (weather permitting of course). During the day there is the funicular to Les Arcs which is free with your lift pass. It runs until 7.30pm so you can always go for some happy hour drinks straight from the pistes and get the funicular train back.
In Bourg Saint Maurice there are some good ski and snow board shops, 2 large supermarkets, a Mc Donald's, sports centre, sports shops, hire shops, skate park and more.
