Winter and Summer Holidays in Les Arcs

People who are interested in this holiday always ask us the same questions, so we thought that we should list the questions showing our answers. Hopefully this should cover most of your questions, if not feel free to e-mail or call one of our customer service people. Q: As the chalet is 5 min from drive Bourg St Maurice and not actually in Les Arcs resort, how do we get to the slopes in the morning and get back in the evening?
A: Almost all of our guests come by car, and hence drive to the funicular. It is a very easy drive on a main road which is cleared of snow all the time. Those of you who come by train, there are buses which stop almost outside the chalet from Bourg S Maurice, St Foy, La Rosiere and Tignes/ Val D'Isere, so you can get everywhere you wish to go!.
Q: What resort will I get to ski/ board in?
A: The local resort is Les Arcs and this will be the main place to go. However, if you wish to go to Tignes/ Val D'isere or St Foy or La Rosière tthey are only 30 min drive up the road. There are buses which stop outside the chalet that go to these resorts if you do not have a car.
Q: We will require child care?
A: There are a few local companies in Bourg St Maurice where you can leave you children for the day and collect them after skiing. Please let us know andd we can put you in contact with them.
Q: Where are the nearset shops, bars, supermarkets, resataurants?
A: The closest town to the chalet is SEEZ, 1.5km away. Here you will find bakeries, a small supermarket, a few bars and restaurants, a post office, hairdressers and a fantastic butchers.
A little further is Bourg St Maurice and here there is everything you require, from several large supermarkets, ski and snowboard hire shops, bars, restaurants, swimming pool, even a Mac Donald's!
Q: What is the snow like in Les Arcs?
A: Les Arcs always gets good snow. It has some of the best snow in France. Even at the end of the season there is snow all the way down to Vallandry. Usually there is a last snowfall in April, which keeps the snow level good. Also Les Arcs seems to get the best of the weather with plenty of sun and blue skies.
Q: We do not ski what else is there to do?
A: In Seez, there are museums to visit, there is aswimming pool in Bourg, accross the road from the chalet there is the X country ski course, there are quad bikes, you can go paragliding, ice skating and MUCH MUCH MORE! Pop in to the local tourist Office to pick up brochures or contact DARENTESIA, or ARC ADVENTURE,
Q: Do you have WIFI?
A: Unfortunately we do not have WIFI, but in bourg st maurice in most of the bars there is FREE WIFI. If you do not have your own computer, amost opposite the train station there is a bar called BAZOOM who have computers available. They also do great food!
Q: Is there a limit to the size of my party?
A: The chalet can sleep up to 16 guests at a push as this will be using the sofabed in the Mezzannine.
Q: Where are the nearest Ski Schools?
A: You will find all the main ski schools (ESF, Arc Adventure, Spirit...)in Les Arcs 1600, 2min walk from the top of the funicular.
Q: What do I get for my money?
A: You will be staying in a beautiful Allpine Chalet, very spacious, board and boot room, fantastic views, TV, DVD, stereo. There is a washroom with a washing machine and tumble dryer. You wil also have access to a ski and board servicing area. All local TAX, electricity and water also included.
Q: When is the earliest I can arrive on Saturday, and at what time do I have to check out?
A: You can arrive anytime after 10am, and you are to check out at 9am. The chalet is expected to be cleaned and tidied.
Q: Where are the nearest hire shops?
A: In Bourg St Maurice you will find an INTERSPORT and SPORT 2000. These are the cheapest hire shops. For high end snowboard equipment, there is a shop called TIPTOP, in the centre of Bourg where you can get new equipment.
Q: How much is the security deposit, and when do I get it back?
A: There is a £500 cheque deposit required on arrival, which we post back to you within the week after your stay. This is to ensure that nothing is broken/ missing, and that the chalet is cleaned correctly.
